In response to "fan death"

My uncles in Hawaii, okay I mean two of my uncles in Hawaii, that are firefighters, always used to tell me that I should never sleep with the fan on.

I don't know about Kent's research, but they said that electric fans tend to short and so, actually cause fires.  Don't know, I never heard of any cases, but they said it happens much more than you would think.  So, Kent is still right, not exactly 'fan death', but dangerous non-theless... I could think of many more ways a fan could kill you, but I think I just watch too much TV.

On another note, remember 'Dangerous Minds' when Michelle Pfiefer bought dinner for a student who wrote an essay ? poem?.. (I forget).  Anyways, some months ago I decided to try that with my kids and their journals.  At first I was getting journal entries that were half a page long.  Then I told the students that I would treat, to lunch, the two students who wrote the most in their journals.  Even though I sometimes tell myself that it was a stupid idea because it only caused more work for me, I really did look forward to reading their journals every Monday.  With next week coming up, the last day for journal entries is drawing close.  There has been one boy, consistently trying to catch up to the girls on the top of the list.  He writes in his journal how frustrating it is to try and beat them, but he still tries.  On Tuesday he told me he has been writing a lot in his journal.  He also told me the count is 2040 words!.. hmmm.. I am just banking that he meant 240.  But even that is great!  So, all in all, 'Dangerous Minds' a good movie.  See Cheryl, you CAN learn from TV.

some voices have been saying...

-that the most peaceful place i have found at my school, seems to be a stall in the women's bathroom.  First of all, once you enter, it automatically shuts out more than half of the school's population and then... once in said stall.  Well, you can't get more alone than that.  I don't have to listen to anyone or anything.  Though the smell bothers me, the peace of mind is quite welcoming.

-my other voice forgot what she wanted to say....

-watching cheryl breakdance in labZ has to have been one of the most funniest things I have ever seen!  I don't think it was because I was drunk off my ass.  Try watching a girl in tight jeans, a halter top and sandals get down on the ground and bust some moves, just to tease the diehard dancers in a club.  Japan is da bomb!

-yup, my other voice is still on vacation...

guess that is it...........

My mom sent this to me.  You have to view it, but just make sure wherever you do, that it has sound.  It's amazing.
